I am attending the second time this developer summit(22-25 April 2009). I am interested to attend as the last year's programs were really good. This time also, it is in Tata Auditorium in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. This is basically a good gathering to know the technological development happening the around the globe. Exhibitors were showcasing and explaining their products and demo of the activities. Days are divided into GIDS.net, GIDS.web, GIDS.java, GIDS.cobol, and GIDS.workshop. I basically attended the GIDS.net and GIDS.web.
GIDS.net include the latest .net development in the industry mainly framework3.5, 4.0, IIS, SOA, Server technologies, Flash, WCF, AJAX, LINQ, Silverlight, Crystal reports, Cloud computing and Agile methodologies including Daily Scrum. I am already implementing Daily Scrum concepts in my project. I liked the presentations very interesting. Apart from the keynote events, presentations, product demos, there lots of takeaway gifts by various partners including technical CDs, Bags, T shirts, Pens , mug, Mobile phones, Free paid trip to Singapore, and various special gifts.
We will be able to know information on various technologies, products and various product development companies. Microsoft( good programs for the startup companies), Adobe (wonderful products flash, flex, and latest framework AIR), Sony Ericson( good application ideas and mentorship), IBM (developerworks and new products), Microfocus(cobol tools), Yahoo (search tools), Intel(optimization tools), Embarcadero (Delphi, Interbase etc)
It will be wonderful experience for anybody in the software field. These sessions will be a real positive effect give c confidence to the developers to develop quality code and improve concentration on the current developments. Utilization of the technology with optimum level needs some kind of mentoring or training, which can be very well achieved from these seminars. The companies participating are expert in the areas of technology and we can benefit by understanding their product features.
